The projects in Ecuador and Colombia receive no government funding from either country and so we are totally reliant on the giving of individuals, churches and grant-making organisations to continue our work. When you choose to donate to charity you relieve the burden on workers who can focus on delivering the care and support to change people’s lives.
You can help by making a donation to Orphaids via JustGiving. This reduces our admin costs as they reclaim any Gift Aid on our behalf and means that more of your donation goes to the projects we support. You can make a one-off donation or set up a regular monthly amount for as little or as much as you like…
Orphaids UK has very low running costs and, in any case, much of the work is carried out by volunteers – leaving us able to ensure that as much money as possible donated to projects does reach its intended destination.
Alternatively, you could create sponsored events or take part in events such as the London Marathon or organise local fundraising activities to provide valuable help towards our workers’ wages and site maintenance bills. You can create a fundraising page at JustGiving for these types of events too.
Please note: If you are intending to organise your own sponsored event, it is important that we know about it in advance. For liability reasons, your event can be run in aid of Orphaids but not in the name of Orphaids.
